ENERGY SYSTEMS
Academic Year 2022/2023 - Teacher: Rosario LANZAFAMEExpected Learning Outcomes
The different energy sources and the related energy conversions will be presented. Specifically, biomass energy, geothermal energy, wind energy, solar energy as well as green hydrogen and the characteristics of the respective generation systems. Particular attention will be paid to the analysis of energy technology systems in the context of the objectives of respect for the environment, first of all the control of the production of greenhouse gases, in order to achieve mitigation effects of the “Global Warming”.
Advanced energy systems will also be treated, with specific attention to combined cycles and cogeneration power plants as well as their integration with solar thermal energy capture systems, including the molten salt thermodynamic solar system
