Mobility Abroad
The current guidelines require a mandatory study period of at least six months for all PhD students, including those fully or partially funded by companies.
PhD students, aware of this mandatory training requirement, should be informed that:
- A 50% increase in the monthly scholarship contribution is provided for each month spent abroad. No increase is provided for stays shorter than one month. To access this, students can consult the page: https://www.dieei.unict.it/en/content/guidelines-missions-and-travel-reimbursement-phd-candidates
- Additionally, students can also participate in Erasmus+ calls to compete for further funding. All PhD students, except those whose scholarships are funded by PNRR funds or other projects funded by the EU commission, are eligible. For more details, refer to the information available at: https://www.unict.it/it/internazionale/erasmus-tirocinio-progetto-di-ateneo.
- There are also various funding sources available from foundations or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for which students are referred to their respective pages. Students are encouraged to ensure they complete the required minimum mobility period, which is part of the evaluation of the PhD program (AVA3 system).
