Vincenzo COSTANZO

Assistant Professor of environmental technical physics [IIND-07/B]

Vincenzo Costanzo is currently a Tenure-track Assistant Professor (RtD-B) at the University of Catania, where he graduated in Architectural Engineering in 2012 with honours. At the same University, he obtained the title of PhD in Energy (XXVIII cycle) in January 2016 with a thesis on the use of cool materials in the roofs of existing buildings for the improvement of thermal comfort and the reduction of energy consumption for cooling. Visiting PhD Student at the Victoria University of Wellington (New Zealand), Research Associate at the University of Reading (United Kingdom), Visiting Lecturer at Chongqing University (China), Research Fellow and RtD-A at the University of Catania (Italy), Associate Editor of the Journal of Building Engineering (Elsevier), Editor of the Energy & Buildings magazine (Elsevier) and Editorial Board Member of the journals Sustainability (MDPI), Energies (MDPI), Buildings (MDPI), Intelligent Buildings International (Taylor & Francis), and Journal of Daylighting (Solarlits). His research is based on a broad spectrum of topics typical of Environmental Technical Physics, with particular reference to building thermophysics, passive cooling systems, indoor and outdoor thermal comfort, daylighting, energy efficiency and the production of renewable energy from solar sources.
