Giovanni Calabrò (Catania, 27/05/1994) is currently Research Fellow (Ricercatore t.d. A) at the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering of the University of Catania, where he obtained the BSc in Civil and Environmental Engineering (2016) and the MSc in Water and Transportation Civil Engineering (2018) both with honours.
In 2022, he obtained the Ph.D. in Evaluation and Mitigation of Urban and Territorial Risks (curriculum in Transportation Engineering) - XXXIV cycle, with a dissertation on the "Adaptive Transit design and operation via agent-based simulations and analytical models".
From May 2022 to June 2023 he worked at the Department for the EU Policies and Structural Funds of the Municipality of Catania with the qualification of Technical Project Manager - Mobility expert.
His research focuses on the modelling and simulation of transportation systems, with particular emphasis on the integration of demand-responsive transport services and public transport, accessibility analysis, and the use of Digital Twins for mobility planning and management.
Member of the Italian Association for Traffic and Transport Engineering (AIIT) since 2019, he has published several peer-reviewed papers in international journals and conference proceedings.
