Concetto SPAMPINATO

Associate Professor of Information processing systems [ING-INF/05]

Concetto Spampinato received the Laurea (grade 110/110 cum laude) degree in computer engineering and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Catania, in 2004 and 2008, respectively, where he is currently an assistant professor. In 2007 he was visiting researcher at the School of Informatics, University of Edinburgh (UK). In April 2018 he was appointed as "Courtesy" Assistant Professor at the Center for Research in Computer Vision, University of Central Florida (USA). He is also member of the Pattern Recognition and Computer Vision Lab at the University of Catania. In 2017, he has got the National Scientific Qualification to Associate Professor (ASN - Seconda Fascia) in the areas of Information Engineering (SSD 09/H1) and Computer Science (SSD 01/B1) as well as the National Scientific Qualification to Full Professor (ASN - Prima Fascia) in Computer Engineering (SSD 09/H1) and in Computer Science (SSD 01/B1).

He has coauthored over than 150 publications in international refereed journals and conference proceedings. He is/was associate editor/guest editor of international journals such as Computer Vision e Image Understanding, Pattern Recognition Letters, Multimedia Systems. He is member of IEEE, CVF and IARPR.
