Antonio LAUDANI

Associate Professor of Electrical engineering [ING-IND/31]

Antonino Laudani was born in Catania in 1973.
In January 1999 he graduated in Electronic Engineering from the University of Catania, by vote of 110 to 110 cum laude
In February 2003 he obtained the title of PhD in Electronic Engineering from the University of Reggio Calabria.
From September 2003 to February 2005 is the holder of a postdoctoral program in Electrical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Catania.
From March 2005 to June 2011 he worked as researcher benefitting of a research grant for the SSD ING-IND/31 Electrical Engineering, Department of Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Systems, University of Catania.
On 1 September 2011 he joined as a researcher fellow at the Faculty of Engineering of the University Roma Tre for the scientific field ING-IND/31 Electrical.
From March 2018 he is Associate Prof. of Electrical Science at Roma Tre University.
In September 2018 he achieved the National Scientific qualification as full professor in the Italian higher education system, in the call 2016/2018 (Ministerial Decree n. 1532/2016) for the disciplinary field of 09/E1 - Electrical engineeering. (Academic Recruitment Field 09/E - Electrical and electronic engineering and measurements, according to the national classification)

Antonino Laudani is member of the International Compumag Society (ICS) from 2001, of IEEE Society from 2009, of American Association for the Advancement of Science(AAAS) from 2014 and of International Solar Energy Society(ISES) from 2016 and of “Società Italiana Caos e Complessità” (SICC) from 2017.

The most significant results of his work were presented at major international conferences in the sector of electrical and electronic engineering and of computer science and appeared in qualified international journals.
The scientific production of Antonino Laudani now includes more than 120 scientific publications in international distribution.

Most of the research activities of Antonino Laudani were conducted as part of national/international research projects or in collaboration with international researcher groups from important University, such as University of Colorado-Denver (USA), University of Elche (Spain), Vellore Institute of Technology - VIT Vellore (India), Pohang University of Science and Technology, Pohang, (South Korea), Polytechnic University of Turin (Italy), University of Catania, University of Genova, University of Messina, University of Palermo, University of Perugia, or from other research institute such as the European Space Agency ESA/ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands, the Centro Tecnologico da Marinha em Sao Paulo, Coordenadoria de Estudos e Projetos Especiais, Sao Paolo (Brasile), Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology (EMPA - Zurigo (Svizzera), National Physical Laboratory (NPL) London (UK), the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology INGV (Italy), the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development, ENEA (Italy) and National Research Council (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, CNR) (Italy). Many activities are also developed under agreements with the research groups of different companies (STMicroelectronics, Galileo Avionica, Selex Communications, etc..) to resolve issues of strategic interest for the industry.

Activities as journal editor and conference organizer
Antonino laudani has served since 2014 as Associate Editor for the scientific journal Mathematical Problems in Engineering (ISSN: 1563-5147), Hindawi and since 2018 for the scientific journal Computational Intelligence and Neuroscience, Hindawi. Since 2020 he is Associate Editor for Energies (MDPI) and Sensors (MDPI).
In addition, he has served as Guest Editor for the following journals COMPEL- The international journal for computation and mathematics in electrical and electronic engineering (ISSN: 0332-1649), Emerald; International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics (ISSN print: 1383-5416; ISSN on-line: 1875-8800), Iospress; International Journal of Numerical Modelling: Electronic Networks, Devices and Fields (ISSN: 1099-1204), Wiley.
Antonino Laudani has been a member of the organization committee for the International IEEE ``14th Workshop on Optimization and Inverse Problems in Electromagnetism (IEEE OIPE 2016)'', Roma (Italy), 13-15 Sept 2016. In 2016 was Session Organizer and Session Chair for the ``13th International Workshop on Finite Elements for Microwave Engineering'', Florence 16-18 May 2016. In 2017 was Session Chair for Intermag 2017, Dublin, Ireland, 24 - 28 April 2017. The activity of session chair in this conference includes the selection of the reviewers for the extended articles for their inclusions on IEEE Transactions on Magnetics.
In addition, Antonino Laudani has been member of Technical Program Committee for: Symposium on Recent Advances in Communication Theory, Information Theory, Antennas and Propagation (CIAP'17) , Sixth International Conference on Advances in Computing, Communications and Informatics (ICACCI-2017), organized by Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal University, Manipal, Karnataka State, India ; International Conference on Physics, Mathematics and Statistics (PMS 2018) China 12-14 May 2018. He is also member of the International Advisory Committee for 2017 IEEE International (biennial) Conference on ``Technological Advancements in Power and Energy”, organized by Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Amritapuri campus, India.
In 2018, Antonino Laudani will be track chair for the 4th International Forum on Research and Technologies for Society and Industry, technical section "Advanced numerical modelling".
Lastly, he is General Chair of the international conference Advances In Magnetics 2023.

His scientific work was conducted on the typical topics of electrical engineering and has focused mainly on aspects related to the study of methods for computing electromagnetic fields and their application in analysis and simulation of electromagnetic devices, as well as developing circuits and algorithms, also based on artificial intelligence, machine learning and soft-computing techniques for the prediction and processing of signals and for the solution of inverse problems and optimization.
