Arturo BUSCARINO

Arturo Buscarino received his Master's degree in 2004 and his Ph.D. in 2008 from the University of Catania, where he is currently an Associate Professor. He is an IEEE Senior Member and served as IEICE Europe Section Representative from 2023 to 2025. In 2020 he obtained the National Scientific Qualification (ASN) as Full Professor (SSC 09/G1).

Within the framework of the First Executive Programme of the Agreement between Italy and Turkey on Scientific and Technical Cooperation 2006–2009, he was a visiting researcher at Istanbul Technical University in 2009. In 2015 he was a visiting researcher at the University of WisconsinMadison.

He served as General Chair of the international conferences Nonlinear Dynamics of Electronic Systems NDES 2018, for which he received a sponsorship grant from the Micron Technology Foundation, IFAC CHAOS 2021, IEICE NOLTA 2023, and IEEE ICIEA 2026. He was a member of the Steering Committee of CompEng 2016 and Program Chair of ECCTD 2017. He organized a workshop at MED 2012 and several special sessions at IECON 2016, ECCTD 2017, ISCAS 2018, and SMC 2016. He served as Special Session Chair of the IEICE NOLTA 2026 conference.

He has been an invited speaker at TU Berlin and a visiting professor at the Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi and at the University of Messina. He was also an invited speaker at the international conference IEICE ICETC 2022.

He has taken part in the following research projects: FIRB 2001, COST Action B27 ENOC, the VIGONI Italy–Germany bilateral project (2009–2010), the Italy–Turkey bilateral projects 2006–2009 and 2012–2014, EURATOM–ENEA–UNICT (2010–2014), and EUROfusion–ENEA–UNICT (2014–2018). He is the principal investigator of two industrial research projects funded by the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT).

He is Editor-in-Chief of the international journal Nonlinear Engineering. He previously served as Associate Editor of the International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos and as a member of the Editorial Board of the SpringerBriefs Series on Nonlinear Circuits.

He has published seven books on nonlinear circuits and dynamical systems and more than 250 papers in international peer-reviewed journals and international conference proceedings (H-index: 40). His research interests include nonlinear circuits and systems, chaos and synchronization, memristors, complex networks, control systems, Cellular Nonlinear Networks, and plasma engineering.
