Learning Objectives
The aim of the course is to develop skills in terms of knowledge of the fundamental concepts and enabling technologies of IP communication systems, for fixed and mobile networks. It also aims to provide students with a critical view of the current technological evolution in telecommunication systems and networks.

Detailed Course Content
Information theory and coding. Transmission media for telecommunication networks. Network design criteria for integrated telecommunication services. Solutions and enabling technologies for innovative networks and services. Basic principles of mobile communications. GSM, UMTS and LTE cellular networks. 5G networks.
