Prof. Scelba cordially invites students to attend a seminar scheduled for Friday, December 15th, 2023, from 14:00 to 17:30 at Aula B2, Polo Tecnologico. The seminar is titled:

"Static and Dynamic Characterization of Silicon Carbide MOSFET - How to get all the data to boost next generation of power converters"

The lecturers for this seminar are Dr. Eng. Mario Pulvirenti and Mr Gionatan Montoro, both from STMicroelectronics - Catania.

Bios:

Dr. Eng. Mario Pulvirenti

Dr. Mario Pulvirenti (S’13-M‘17) was born in Catania (Italy) in1987, he received the B.S., and M.S. degree from University of Catania respectively in 2010 and 2012 both on Electrical Engineering and the PhD degree from the University of Catania, on Energetic in 2016. He spent six months as visiting research scholar at “WEMPEC”- Wisconsin Electrical Machine Power Electronics Consortium, at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2014. He became an Electrical Engineering researcher in 2016 at the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Computer Science at University of Catania and his research activities were focused on the optimal control and fault tolerant capability of multiphase and multidrive AC systems. Since 2017, he has joined the “STMicroelectronics” company, working with the “Automotive and Discrete Group, Power Transistor Sub Group”, on the development and characterization of New Technologies and Products, based on wide band-gap devices.

Gionatan Montoro

Gionatan Montoro is an Application Engineer in the Automotive and Discrete Group in STMicroelectronics, Catania. His work focuses specifically on the development and characterization of new technologies and products based on wide band-gap devices in the Power Transistor Sub Group. He began his career in the semiconductor industry with STMicroelectronics in 2001, where he worked as an IC Layout Engineer on the development of Digital, Power, and RF devices. He also specializes on automatic IC routing. He is passionate about learning new technologies and can often be found familiarizing himself with new software and tools or reading technical articles in his spare time.
