English Version

Loreto Di Donato received M.S. ans B. S. Laurea degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Naples “Federico II” (Italy) in 2006 and 2008, respectively. In 2009, he joined the Electromagnetic Diagnostic Research Group at the Institute for Electromagnetic Sensing of the Environment - National Research Council (IREA-CNR) of Italy in Naples with a study and research grant. In 2010, he joined the University “Mediterranea” of Reggio di Calabria as a Ph.D. student and in 2012 he received the Ph.D. in Information Engineering (Applied Electromagnetics). Since 2013 he is with Department of Electrical, Electronics and Computer Engineering as Assistant Professor (2013-2019) and Associate Professor (since 2021) of Electromagnetic Fields and Antennas at the University of Catania (Italy). His research activities mainly concern inverse scattering problems with particular interest in microwave imaging for biomedical, subsurface and plasma non invasive diagnostics. Other research topics are concerned with antenna synthesis problem and bio-electromagnetic interactions at millimeter waves. Loreto Di Donato was a Young Scientist at the XXXIII International Conference on Ground Penetrating Radar in 2010, Young Scientist Awarded at the XXX URSI General Assembly in 2011, he received an honorable mention from the IEEE - Antennas and Propagation Society Committee (Chapter Central and Southern-Italy) in a Student Member best paper competition in 2012, and the "Gaetano Latmiral" Prize from the Società Italiana di Elettromagnetismo in 2016.
