Obiettivi formativi

  • ELECTRIC POWER PRODUCTION AND TRANSMISSION

    To give basic understanding of power systems and the essential technical aspects having influence on issues like the future electrical power systems.

    The students achieve knowledge about the management, operation and control of a power system and the main components involved under both production and transmission of electric energy.

    The main principles and numerical tools for grid calculations are treated and will give experience and confidence for use hereof.

    The course forms the base for further education within power engineering, but is in general useful for all students aiming at some specialization within electrical energy systems.

    To give basic understanding of the power system and the essential economical aspects having influence on issues like the future power systems.

    The students achieve knowledge about the economics of power systems and traiding of electrical energy and services.

    The main principles and numerical tools for power system analysis are treated and will give experience and confidence for use hereof.

    The course forms the base for further education within economics in power engineering, but is in general useful for all students aiming at some specialization within electrical energy systems.

  • ELECTRIC POWER PRODUCTION AND TRANSMISSION

    Lecture organization

    Lecturing is used to convey knowledge and it is organized as follows:

    1) the lecture notes are outlined— first major points, then the minor points that elaborate on or explain each major point;

    2) relevant, concrete examples, in advance of the lecture, selecting examples familiar and meaningful to the students are provided;

    3) students are allowed to stop the lecture to ask relevant questions, make comments, or ask for review;

    4) intersperse periodic summaries within the lecture.are considered;

    5) lectures start with a question, problem, current event, or something that just grabs the students’ attention;

    6) active learning techniques are used (technological aids, such as multimedia presentations);

    7) simulations sessions are used to check and grasp the theoretical concepts.

    - trigonometry, basic calculus, complex numbers, and phasor concepts
